SNK’s Mai from The King of Fighters coming to Dead or Alive 5
Mai is the next guest character en route for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round’s roster. Team Ninja revealed her as a playable character at the Dead or Alive Festival in Tokyo. Expect her to release this September. We don’t know much about her moveset, but if it’s anything like with previous guest character, Mai’s moveset should remain relatively faithful to her fighting style in her own game.

Naotora Ii now available to download for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round

Naotora Ii now available to download for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round
You can download Naotora Ii for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, at least on Xbox One. The PlayStation Store has not yet updated, but she will be available the moment it does. The game updated alongside this release, bringing the Azuchi stage to everyone for free. The character is $5.99 alone or $11.99 bundled with the extra debut costumes, both of which are included free in the season pass 3. Naotora Ii attacks primarily with kicks as she does in Samurai Warriors. Most of her moves in DOA look like they were translated directly from Samurai Warriors 4. She has been added to the tag team list, however, disappointingly, she has no unique attributes with any of the other characters. Team NINJA published a debut trailer and combo trailer today. We also have provided a gameplay sample of Naotora and the Azuchi stage.

Naotora Ii playable in DOA5 Ultimate Arcade, moveset and backstory revealed
Like the other additional characters that were added to Dead or Alive 5, starting with Marie Rose, Naotora Ii has been added to Japan’s Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Arcade roster ahead of retail versions of the game. Detailed on the Japanese website are her moveset and backstory. Of course, everything is in Japanese. So, unless you’re one of those people that sits at the cool kid’s table, you can’t read it! Thankfully, the people at Dead or Alive Wiki have provided an English translation for her backstory: Dragged into a mysterious portal by-way-of a Victor Donovan’s M.I.S.T. time-travelling experiment, the ruler of Japan’s Warring States era Ii Clan, Naotora Ii, emerges and stranded in present-day next to a competitor of the DEAD OR ALIVE fighting tournament. Given no other choice but to fight for her life, and keeping her family motto of ‘once on the battlefield, one ...

Samurai Warriors 4: Empires & Naotora Ii DLC for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round set to release in March

Samurai Warriors 4: Empires & Naotora Ii DLC for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round set to release in March
Koei Tecmo has officially announced that in celebration of Samurai Warriors 4: Empires releasing on March 15, Naotora Ii, from the Samurai Warriors series, will be releasing as a playable character in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round on March 17. Samurai Warriors 4: Empires will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The Naotora Ii DLC is included in DOA’s Season Pass 3 (PS4) / New Costume Pass 3 (Xbox One). The same pass will also later include Samurai Warriors 4 crossover costumes for each character. The character DLC will additionally be released alongside Azuchi, a Japanese castle stage originally from Dead or Alive 3, for free, paying homage to the samurai theme. Naotora Ii attacks solely with kicks in Samurai Warriors, so it’ll be interesting to see how they implement her moves into the fighting game. I expect a lot of kick combos.
