In a trailer posted by Playtonic, several characters are shown off and Shovel Knight makes an appearance and speaks to the main protagonists. That guy sure gets around.

He doesn’t have much to say, other than he seemingly got lost in the wrong game. It’s hard to say what kind of role he will play in Yooka-Laylee.
